Biography, Education and Training
Skyler Rose Marshall is a reader, writer, educator, book collector, and student of literature from Benicia, California. She received her Bachelor of Arts from UC Berkeley, with honors, focusing on nostalgia in British children’s literature and Virginia Woolf’s novel To the Lighthouse. She is the Executive Assistant for writer, speaker, and teacher Dr. Laurel Braitman, and from June through September, Skyler works in administration and logistics for a Kodiak Island salmon cannery located in Larsen Bay, Alaska. Her current work considers the state of the humanities as an academic discipline in universities in the 21st century by studying Woolf as a critic, writer, and reader in the previous century, focusing on the ways in which Shakespeare appears in her writings, specifically outside of and excluded from the academy.
