View News The Mediterranean Seminar: NEH Summer Institute 2010 August 20, 2009 The Mediterranean Seminar announces that the National Endowment for the Humanities has approved funding for our second four-week Summer Institute for University and College Professors, to be held in Barcelona, Spain, during the month of July, 2010. The topic for our second edition is “Cultural Hybridities: Christians, Muslims and Jews and the Medieval Mediterranean,” and our faculty will include Judith Cohen (York University), Steven Epstein (University of Kansas), Harvey Hames (Ben Gurion University), Peregrine Horden (Royal Holloway), Cynthia Robinson (Cornell), and Daniel Selden (UC Santa Cruz), as well as co-Directors, Brian A. Catlos and Sharon Kinoshita, and selected Spanish scholars. In the coming weeks the Call for Participants will be posted on this website and advertised on list-servers and in print. The twenty-four participants will be university and college faculty who teach American post-secondary students. Applicants of all ranks and all levels of institution are welcome, from all relevant Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines. Please do not make inquiries regarding the Summer Institute until the Call for Participants has been posted on this website (sometime before the end of September 2009). For information on the Summer Institute program, see the NEH webpage.
