Applying to the Graduate Program

Applications are accepted for fall quarter only. The application deadline is December 1st of the preceding academic year. Students wanting to be considered for fellowship support must send applications to the Division of Graduate Studies by the same date. Applicants are notified by mail as to whether or not they have been admitted for graduate study at UCSC after all reviews are complete, normally in the month of March.

Applications materials for both the Literature Ph.D. and M.A. programs are available online at the Graduate Studies website.

No applications materials should be sent to the Department of Literature.  All materials are vetted through the Graduate Division.
